You decided to sell and it’s the holidays.

Wouldn’t it be best to wait until after the new year to list?

The Southern California real estate team have 10 great reasons why you should list your home during the holiday season.

1. People who are looking for a home over the holidays are very serious buyers.

2. Serious buyers have fewer homes to choose from over the holidays as most sellers take their homes off the market. That means less competition and a greater   possibility of multiple offers.

3. Homes usually show better when they’re decorated for the holiday season.

4. Buyers can be more emotional during the holidays and may spend more, ultimately netting you more.

5. Buyers may take vacation time over the holidays enabling a greater chance of more showings especially during the weekdays.

6. Some people must buy before the end of the year for tax reasons.

7. Many employers and employees use the holiday time when mid-year relocation is necessary.

8. You can keep your home listed on the market and have the option to delay the closing and or restrict showings on the days you want to celebrate the holidays.

9. You can sell now and ask the buyer for a lease-back to stay for the holidays. This is something we exercise quite often to accommodate time lines for both buyer and seller.

10. Since the supply of homes will drastically increase in January, they’ll be less demand for your particular home. Less demand means less money. Now may be a great time to sell.
